Nak Muay — Art of Eight Limbs
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 October 2026
Nak Muay — Art of Eight Limbs (“the app”) is a fighting game you can play offline against the computer, or online against another person. This policy is short because there is very little to describe: the app has no accounts and does not collect, store, or share any personal data. The only thing that ever leaves your phone is the fight itself, and only while you are playing online.
In short
- No personal data is collected, by us or by anyone else
- No accounts, no sign-in, no names and no chat
- No ads, no analytics, no trackers, no third-party SDKs
- Settings and progress are saved on your device only
- Online play is optional; our server passes the fight between two phones and stores nothing
- Everything except online play works fully offline
What we collect
Nothing that identifies you. The app has no accounts and no login. Offline play sends nothing off your device. Online play is described under Online play below — what it sends is the fight, not information about you, and our server keeps none of it.
Data stored on your device
So that the game remembers where you left off, the app saves a small amount of data locally on your device only, using the standard local storage of the app's built-in browser view:
- Settings — sound, music, announcer, vibration, sharp graphics, button size and difficulty.
- Progress — your selected fighter, which fighters you have unlocked, belts and titles won, how many fights you have won, whether you have seen the how-to screen, and whether you have already been asked to rate the app.
None of this identifies you, none of it leaves your device, and uninstalling the app removes it. There is no backup or sync of any kind.
Online play
Online play is optional. The app connects to our server only when you open Online and choose Quick match, Create room or Join room — never in the background, and never during offline play.
While you are in an online fight, the app exchanges these with our relay server over an encrypted connection:
- the fighter you picked and your screen width, so both screens show the same ring
- your button presses, and the fight's state — positions, health, round and timer
- a room code, if you create or join a room — four random letters, not linked to you
- timing messages used to show your connection speed, and the app's version number
The server's only job is to pair you with an opponent and pass these messages between the two phones. It does not look inside them, and it stores and logs none of them — when either player leaves, the match is gone. Like any internet server, it necessarily sees your IP address in order to send replies back to your phone; it does not record it. The only thing the server keeps is a set of anonymous daily totals — such as how many players were online at once and how many matches were made — which contain nothing that could identify you or tell one player from another.
Your opponent receives your fighter choice and your moves, as they would sitting next to you. They do not receive your IP address or anything else about you — all traffic goes through our server, never directly between phones. There is no chat, no names and no profiles.
The server is hosted by Fly.io in Singapore, who act as our infrastructure provider.
Network use
Offline play is fully playable with no internet connection and contacts no server — ours or anyone else's. There are no ads, no analytics, no crash reporting and no third-party SDKs.
Besides online play, there are two places where the app touches something outside itself. Neither one sends any information about you:
- The optional “Rate the app” button
- If you choose to tap it, the app opens this app's own page in your phone's app store — the same as tapping a link yourself. Nothing about you is included, and the store's own privacy policy covers what happens once you are there. Ignoring or dismissing the prompt sends nothing at all.
- The announcer voice
- When the announcer is switched on, the app asks your phone's built-in text-to-speech to read a few fixed phrases from the fight, such as “Round one” or “Knockout”. These phrases are part of the game and contain no information about you. Speech is handled by Android, under its own privacy policy, and you can switch the announcer off entirely in Settings.
Permissions
- Vibration
- Used only for the haptic feedback you feel when a strike lands. It cannot read anything from your phone, and you can turn it off in Settings.
- Network access (INTERNET)
- Used for online play, as described above. The app is built with Capacitor, which also uses this permission to serve the game's own files to the built-in browser view from an address on your own device. Offline play makes no requests to any server.
The app requests no access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, files, accounts or device identifiers.
Children
The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children, and contains no ads or purchases. Online play has no chat, names, profiles or other social features — players can only fight.
